Public Relations Manager/Assistant Grant Writer
Responsibilities included:Public Relations: Day-to-day public relations activities in print, television and radio, fulfilling incoming media requests with experts in appropriate topics, identifying opportunities and risks. Pitched stories to media contacts and secured media placement. Maintained press kits and served as primary liaison between Centerstone and outside public relations firm/consultants. Media Relations: Increased Centerstone's media coverage through partnerships with news organizations, including television, newspaper, and magazines. Wrote and pitched by-lined articles, press releases, and feature stories. Marketing: Promoted the organization's more than 20 programs and departments throughout the Middle Tennessee region, working with marketing and PR team to implement plans. Developed collateral materials including brochures, flyers and Reclaiming Lives magazine (Associate Editor and lead writer) to support these efforts. Wrote material that won Centerstone CEO, Healthcare Hero Award from the Nashville Business Journal, 2012.Internal Communications: Worked with Internal Communications Specialist to develop articles for The Source, the organization's intranet, to keep Centerstone's 2,000 employees apprised of announcements and important milestones.Grant Writing: Conducted research and wrote competitive documents to support a full range of multi-million dollar educational and behavioral health grant opportunities from federal, state and local agencies for Centerstone of Tennessee and Centerstone of Indiana. In 2011-2012, the grant writing team won over $22 million in funding.Wrote material that won Centerstone CEO the Healthcare Hero Award from the Nashville Business Journal, 2012.Edited modules and other materials for Master's level clinical and policy courses on integrated healthcare for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
