Retired
CurrentRetired. Living in a hydro-grid solar-powered straw bale eco-house, with net metering—increasingly important as snowpack and glacial streamflows in Western Canada diminish. We grow and preserve much of our food using permaculture and regenerative agriculture principles. I am an active volunteer with the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail & Snow Network (CoCoRaHS), through which I report precipitation metrics daily and I am an enthusiastic volunteer with Butterflies in my Back Yard (BIMBY), a David Suzuki Foundation project to support research into butterflies in the hope of helping them survive and thrive in the years to come.
