In my position as Visa Officer, I am in charge of everything related to visa procedures at Utrecht University. We work closely together with the IND, the International Welcome Center Utrecht Region, and other higher education institutions via the Nuffic Mobility Obstacles (Mobstacles for short) Network to ensure our new international students receive the best possible service.

As Assistant Admissions Officer, my main focus is processing and checking the application files of international students, and assisting them through the application procedure. In addition to my core tasks I am very interested in process improvement and service design. I am currently leading a project aimed at improving the application experience for the student through information accessibility and effective communication. I will continue this project in my next position as Visa Officer.

The Immigration Office is responsible for the smooth arrival of international students at the University of Amsterdam. Along with the rest of the team, I was responsible for assessing visa and/or residence permit applications, maintaining contact with the UvA's faculties and the IND, and assisting students through the immigration procedures. I was also responsible for handling and streamlining the administrative procedures in order to comply with Dutch immigration law. Another important task of mine was to ensure a smooth arrival of international students in Amsterdam. Together with my colleagues, I coordinated and organized 4 editions of the UvA's arrival days for international students. I also organized registration events with the municipalities of Amsterdam and Diemen, the Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND), ING bank and Rabobank.
