Cville OneBook aimed to put Love into Charlottesville by promoting a community-wide read of Angie Thomas’s YA novel The Hate U Give to help the local youths have a positive outlet for adding their voices to the local dialogues around race and inclusion. We raised over $10k to purchase a specially dedicated print run of the novel that was distributed in local schools and community organizations—free of charge. Programs included community discussions, panel discussions, school events, and a juried First Fridays Art Show.
