All of my personal and professional roads led me to work with business-owning families. After growing up in Iowa in a large extended family, and marrying into a family business, I began my career in financial services marketing and transitioned into a ten-year career in higher education advancement where I discovered my love of helping others develop their professional potential. My career experience includes financial services marketing, fundraising, and executive and career coaching before I joined the Loyola Family Business Center in 2009. The values of family unity, the importance of community, and respect for the impact of family businesses on the economy became the foundation of my career in Family Business. In 2009 I began working with member families of the Loyola Family Business Center in Chicago and became the Center Director in 2016. My extensive work with family businesses includes mentoring and coaching individuals, family owners, and stakeholders and developing family education supports and processes. I've supported the development and execution of Loyola’s Family Business Institutes and led the peer group program while personally serving the education and service needs of family members and other stakeholders. My consulting work has focused on helping large family businesses perpetuate sustainability and growth for their enterprises and the families that own and operate them. I'm certified in TMP, Hogan, LVI assessments, and hold a certificate in Family Business Advising from FFI.Prior to joining the Family Business Center of Loyola University, I consulted for a global talent solutions company focused on delivering career transition, leadership consulting, and workforce solutions.Specialties: family meetings, family business education, executive coaching, project management, marketing, fundraising, career coaching, group facilitation and management, and board development.
