With more than a decade of professional development experience, I assumed responsibility for the full PD department in March 2020. This includes four multi-day stand-alone conferences attracting 150+ attendees, Conference Day at The PPAI Expo attracting 8,000 attendees, an on-demand learning library, and industry certification. Key accomplishments during that time include:• Reinvigorated the education experience at The PPAI Expo by elevated the conference experience with fewer, curated sessions based on education tracks and improved staging for a better attendee experience.• Key architect for all virtual conferences in 2020 and 2021, while maintaining high levels of attendance, engagement, and satisfaction. Returned conferences to in-person experiences in 2022 with exceptional feedback. All 2023 conferences have been sold out and exceeded member expectations. Conference management includes budgetary responsibility, content development, speaker selections, site visits and logistics.• As a corporate social responsibility expert, measured and improved internal practices while ensuring all standalone conferences were carbon neutral. Led all diversity, equity, and inclusion programs for the association. Expert regarding social responsibility, supply chain mapping and the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA).• Undertook swift actions to protect industry when a problematic bill was introduced in Congress; led team to quickly mobilize and meet with Congressional representatives, ultimately securing significant changes to the language of the bill that safeguarded industry from harm. • Relying on industry connections and strategic relationships worked to move 26 regional associations from affiliates to association members, overcoming objections, assumptions, and concerns.

In additional to existing portfolio, assumed responsibility for all volunteer engagement and recognition efforts for the association in October 2018. Challenges included replacing a stagnant awards program and re-energizing the volunteer engagement process. Provide oversight and support for all PPAI committees, taskforces and workgroups. Directly serve as staff co-liaison to four committees/workgroups.Key milestones include:• Faced with declining attendance, cancelled the annual awards program and replaced it with sustained recognition of all award winners throughout the year. Updated the look and feel of the program to bring a sophisticated energy to the program and celebrated the award winners at the nexus of their personal networking and recognition experiences. Survey responses from award recipients indicated broad acceptance and positive responses to the changes.• As part of re-energizing volunteer engagement, conducted an analysis of the program and identified two key areas for immediate work. Since committee engagement varied widely from one committee to the next, effort was spent engaging and training all staff liaisons to deliver a more consistent experience. Also, disbanded and relaunched two committees with new members and a strategic foresight focus to deliver a more valuable member experience and generate more useful support for board initiatives.• Managed the transition of the board member election process from a contested election to the approval of a slate. As the result of planning and member communication, the process went very smoothly with very few member concerns.

Oversee all public affairs issues as well as governance work. Relying on strong communication skills, direct the efforts of Washington-based lobbyists to identify industry critical issues, develop action plans, communicate those issues to membership and drive grassroots efforts to combat or support issues that affect the industry. Work closely with federal agencies to monitor regulatory and compliance issues. As a result of strong and sustained communication strategies, PPAI’s efforts in the areas of product responsibility and government relations are now recognized as a top member benefit. Key milestones include:• Work closely with both the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee in developing agendas and minutes, bylaws amendments, and strategic planning. Oversee all Board meetings including site selection, meeting planning and new Board orientation. Manage annual Board elections. • Instrumental in launching the PPAI Product Safety Awareness program—a program designed to ensure that all companies seeking to do business through PPAI channels have at least a basic understanding of their compliance obligations.• Nurtured collaborative relationships with federal agencies, particularly the Consumer Product Safety Commission. • Envisioned and executed the PPAI Product Responsibility Summit—the only national compliance event aimed specifically at the promotional products market. Now, in its eleventh year, it is the most highly attended association event outside of trade shows.• Developed robust compliance manuals for industry compliance professionals.• Invigorated member advocacy efforts through the creation of Legislative Education and Action Day (LEAD), the association’s annual Washington fly-in, and its state-based counterpart, LEAD Local.• Frequent national and international travel to deliver state of the industry reports, updates on industry trends and educate members regarding their regulatory obligations.

Key milestones include:• Drove end buyer outreach including public speaking, advertising campaigns, special events, media print coverage and tradeshow participation.• Engaged professors and students on the college level through direct presentations, inclusion of key industry statistics in marketing textbooks, and the training and deployment of industry professionals to present within their local communities.• Wrote monthly columns for inclusion in Promotional Products Business magazine.• Production of the association’s annual report.
