In this Postdoctoral research position, I am developing an initiative for type 2 diabetes prevention among adult men. The programme will include a review, an intervention development process and a funding application.

In this PhD project, I investigate how to promote health in families at increased risk of type 2 diabetes. From existing literature, and from the perspectives of families and health visitors. The project comprises the qualitative process evaluation at the family level of the Face-it program – a complex health promotion intervention targeting women with.

Since starting the research position, I worked mainly with project management, facilitating partner collaborations, recruitment strategies for vulnerable families and healthcare professionals within preliminary stages of intervention development. I have developed material for workshops that aimed at engaging and discussing cross-sectoral collaboration.

The purpose of the thesis is to gain insight into the healthcare professionals, their interaction and guidance offered for pregnant women after gestational diabetes and new mothers regarding healthy lifestyle, and based on this, provide strategies to optimize cross-sectional communication and counter the increasing incidence of type 2 diabetes
