Since leaving the corporate world and obtaining a Masters in Counseling, I have worked in the Dane County community with economically disadvantaged youth and homeless mothers to identify and alleviate barriers, promote social, educational, and vocational opportunities and raise the bar of expectation and awareness for marginalized students and families. My work as an advocate has been in various areas such as middle schools – tutor and mentor, relief staff in a group home, Teen Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County, coordinator for a home that housed homeless women, and as a Director of an eight-bed maternity home for single, pregnant mothers. I also have personal experience in advocating and supporting youth with special needs.
Listed skills include Social Services, Community Outreach, Program Development, Nonprofits, and 12 others.
