Worked at the NASA Langley Research Center supporting the Pressure Systems Recertification program. Tasks included: - Performing integrity assessments and reviewing damage mechanisms of ground-based piping and pressure vessels for safe continued use. - Performing visual inspections of piping and pressure systems as an ASNT NDT VT Level II and issuing professional reports to the client.- Determination and recommendation of suitable inspection and recertification frequencies.- Analysis and calculations necessary for design and fabrication of pressure vessels and pressurized piping systems in accordance with client standards and all applicable standards and codes.- Problem resolution and preparation of technical repair recommendations to resolve safety issues.- Creation of a Test Stand Standard Operating Procedure.- Approval of vendor documentation for new components.

Worked 7 capital projects for various clients including Shell, Motiva, Phillips 66, and ExxonMobil. Responsibilities included:- Design, specification and procurement of piping specialty items including specialty valves, custom sample stations, steam traps, fire suppression equipment, injection quills, spargers, full encirclement saddles for hot taps, safety shower and eyewash stations, permanent and temporary strainers- Preparation and review of piping line list for correct data on pipe material, wall thickness, corrosion allowance, design pressure/temperature, test pressure, inspection level, insulation and paint specifications

Site Assignment at ExxonMobilWorked 20 capital projects over 2½ years specifically for the ExxonMobil Baton Rouge Chemical Plant, Finishing Plant, Polyolefin Plant and Refinery. Responsibilities included:- Design, specification and procurement of stationary and rotating equipment that included pressure vessels, API & ANSI pumps, firewater pump skids, heat exchangers, FRP tanks, filters, mixers, and a bulk bag discharge system- Design verification and retirement calculations for rerating ASME Section VIII vessels.- Technical bid evaluation packages to present recommendations for purchase- Review and approval of vendor documentation per client specifications- Pipe stress analysis using CAESAR II - Evaluation of piping loads on critical equipment nozzles using NozzlePro FEA software. Also qualification of piping loads on rotating equipment nozzles based on the appropriate design code (API, NEMA, etc)- Review of non-critical piping systems for flexibility and to ensure adequately supported. Also included coordination with piping designers to find solutions for overstressed areas of the piping systems- Interfacing with vendors, client engineers, project managers, operations reps, and process design to incorporate equipment proposals into new construction and retrofit projects
