I'm Annette Dickey and I have enjoyed working as the Administrative Assistant to the President & CEO since 1991 at Community Electric Cooperative. My professional experience started with the Virginia Beach Public Schools and continued with the City of Virginia Beach. After commuting for five years, my husband and I relocated our residence or rather "escaped" to Suffolk in 1986 and never looked back!Being a part of Team CEC is amazing! I will never forget driving down the road toward work in the early hours after Hurricane Isabel. Everything was dark, everywhere, from home to work 20 minutes away. As I pulled into the parking lot, the lights are on like a beacon in a storm (generator!) and there are our guys, loading up the trucks and pulling out to get the power back on. I still get chills thinking about that day. My professional skills have grown since I wear quite a few hats like everyone else here at CEC. As Administrative Assistant, my primary role is to provide support to the President & CEO as well as our Board of Directors. I provide backup support to other positions such as payroll. The latest addition to my role is human resourses/benefits administration. There are so many changes that have taken place and many more to come. Stay tuned!
