About Anne Wajon

Assoc Professor Anne Wajon is an Accredited Hand Therapist (AHTA) with more than 30 years experience in hand therapy. She completed her undergraduate physiotherapy degree at the University of Sydney, a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Physiotherapy at Curtin University, and a Masters degree and PhD at the University of Sydney. Anne attained Certification in Hand Therapy in 1991 and has continued to recertify since then. In 2014, she completed a Graduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy through La Trobe University, and then studied a Masters in Business Administration through Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) from 2015 to 2017.Anne is a past president of the International Federation of the Societies for Hand Therapy (IFSHT) and the Australian Hand Therapy Association, an Accredited member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association, and an associate member of the NSW Hand Surgery Association. Anne has recently been appointed as Clinical Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Macquarie University. Anne has published internationally and contributed to book chapters. She has been invited to speak at International Hand Therapy conferences in Spain, Ireland, Cambodia, Bali and the Philippines. Anne has been asked to review articles for the Physical Therapy Journal and the Journal of Physiotherapy. Her particular clinical interest is in osteoarthritis at the base of the thumb and in 2015 she published an updated Cochrane review for surgery at the base of the thumb.More recently, Anne has become a Regional Partner with Healthia. She provides support and strategic guidance to a number of allied health clinics within the Healthia portfolio.
