I've been an unpaid (volunteer) advocate for people with cancer since 1995.     Hired as one of the few women managers for a (mostly) Japanese-run company, I was a surprise to any visitors from Japan. However our division went over quota all the time (we were a start-up division:). I broke a bone in my foot and went to the 1984 and went to the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics convention with crutches and a wheelchair. The Japanese visitors from Konica took many photos of me. I well remember when the Military buyer came to our booth. He refused to work with me, wanted a MAN. Happily for me, the US-based American managers told him no. This creep wanted personal 'recognition' when he bought an item if you know what I mean. That's probably why the Military overpays for so many items. I cannot, of course, recall his name, but if he remembers the meeting differently, he is welcome to 'sue' me.
