Since my recovery journey began on September 24,1998, I've been working in the field of Substance Abuse & Mental Health. I started on the ground floor as a Behavioral Health Technician and moved up the ladder to become a Clinical Therapist after I became certified as a Master's level CAP.At The Program LLC in West Palm Beach, I inspired patients to create a 5'x 4'​ acrylic painting entitled "The Man on the Bed,"​ an influential piece seen in the rooms of AA. It was then I realized how important creating art was at preventing relapse for my patients, since it became a "replacement activity" for their old drug lifestyles.In 2014, I opened my own business, Ann Frith Recovery Coach LLC, in Delray Beach, FL. My Art In Recovery groups provided my clients with a renewed ability to relax, reduce anxiety, develop mindfulness, and increase self-esteem through creative expression. My goal as a Recovery Coach was to help my clients maintain long-term sobriety. When The Program closed, I became a Clinical Therapist and the Director of the Art Therapy Program at Grace's Way Recovery LLC in West Palm Beach, FL. I supervised patients as they created a second version of "The Man on the Bed" which came out better than the first one! We also illustrated each of the 12 Steps using acrylic paints, collage, markers, and other assorted materials.As Grace's Way Recovery encountered increased financial difficulties, I was laid off on September 30, 2017. At that time, I followed my heart and established a new business, "Mobile Art Classes LLC". This has become a unique opportunity for me to bring the creative process to my clients through individual sessions, groups, parties, and social events.In 2020 when Covid-19 began to spread, I spent everyday painting, exploring beaches and discovering nature trails throughout the Treasure Coast.
