I am an educational consultant. I adhere to the well-researched conclusion that what happens in classrooms is the most important factor affecting student learning and that a strategy focused on teaching and learning in the classroom is the best way to increase students’ chances of entering the adult world prepared to meet the challenges of careers, college and citizenship. I work with schools to build systems and processes that support a three-tier model of prevention and intervention, use student achievement data to support instructional decision making, focus on lesson planning that incorporates systematic and explicit instruction, and build system capacity for sustainability.
