About Ann Hazel JavierAnn is currently the OIC Chief of the Strategic Alliance and Environmental Partnerships Division under the Strategic Communication and Initiatives Services at the DENR Central Office. She previously led DENR CALABARZON's Regional Strategic Communication and Initiatives Group, and served as concurrent Regional Executive Assistant. She is the founder of the family-owned Javier Permaculture Farm and Camp Site located in San Jose, Batangas. She also serves as the Chief Innovation Officer of the farm.She is the former Exec Director of an environmental non-profit called Pusod, Inc. based in Lipa City, Batangas, Philippines. She has expanded its project portfolio, to include the Kalusugang Pangkalahatan Scale Up Project in several Municipalities in Batangas Province, with the UP Economics Foundation. She served as the lead in conservation and protection initiatives in Mt. Malarayat Forest Reserve, Taal Volcano Protected Landscape, and Verde Island Passage. As Exec Dir, she served as a representative to the Protected Area Management Board of Taal Volcano Protected Landscape. She led the implementation of the E-Governance Project, funded by Globe Bridging Communities of Globe Telecom. The E-Governance Project has notable multimedia components such as radio, web/social media, and SMS. She also led the coordination of the local Education Outreach component of the Philippine Biodiversity Expedition with California Academy of Sciences from 2011-2015. She also led the capacity-building activities of 16 social enterprises in fishing communities, in 10 Verde Island Passage Municipalities funded by the USAID ECOFISH Project. She taught as faculty of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, School of Design and Arts under the Multimedia Arts Program for more than 15 years. She taught Project Management, Strategic Marketing, Environmental Communication, and Social Design using various toolkits. She has worked with the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. as Senior Project Development and Management Officer. PHILEXPORT is the Business Support Organization of the Department of Trade and Industry. She also worked as a pioneer employee of the UP-PGH’s Center for Gender and Women Studies and assisted in the establishment of the Office on Anti Sexual Harassment in early 2000.Ann Hazel has finished a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture at UP Los Banos and a Master of Science Candidate , with more than 36 credit units under the Environmental Science Program of De La Salle University-Manila.
