Reporting to Supervisor, William Reilich, I served as a member of the senior leadership team with comprehensive responsibility for the strategic direction and day-to-day administration of HR for the County’s largest town, comprising 450 employees, a $56M budget, and a $26M payroll. Primary duties include benchmarking and developing all HR policies, solutions, and cost optimization programs in direct alignment with the Town strategy; managing the recruitment/hiring/interviewing/onboarding process; reviewing/updating classification & title plans; fielding requests and advising employees on benefits and government related issues; collecting/analyzing data, recommending courses of action, standardizing policies/procedures, and executing best practices; overseeing labor relations/disputes/grievances; representing the Town on the Consortium for Health Care; negotiating with employee unions; administering union contracts; coordinating activities with the Civil Service Commission; and helping resolve personnel issues involving Civil Service Law. Selected achievements include providing critical leadership throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic, including absorption of cutbacks with zero loss of services; upgrading the payroll system and training personnel on a new Windows-based E-Suite platform, saving $50K-$100K annually; successfully sourcing a new third party administrator to handle the Town’s self-insured WC program; instituting the first Management Training program to provide new department heads with essential managerial skills; reducing absenteeism via an enriched Health & Wellness program, leveraging background as a Level I Crossfit Coach; initiating a benefits app; updating the Employee Handbook for the first time since 1999; and being credited with fostering excellent relationships with all constituencies and instituting a more diverse workforce. I joined the Town of Greece in 2009 as a Senior Account Clerk for Finance and then quickly progressed to Senior Office Clerk.
