Annia is an Upper Marlboro, Maryland native currently residing in Wilmington, DE. While studying at Drexel University, Annia realized her passion for civic engagement and working with children. As a result she joined Teach for America as a 2015 Delaware Corp Member, working in the classroom to ensure that every child receives the best education possible. Since becoming a TFA Corp member, Annia obtained her Master of Arts in Teaching from Relay Graduate School in 2017, with a concentration in Elementary Education. Annia holds certifications Elementary Education, Secondary English and Language Arts, Middle School Science, and Special Education. Annia specializes in middle school science instruction and has a passion for building and strengthening school communities through coaching, mentorship, and enrichment activities. Since 2017, Annia has seen significant growth in student learning outcomes and has led numerous school community-building initiatives. In 2022, Annia got her certificate in School Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania and left the classroom to continue to advocate for students, and support teachers and staff from a different perspective.
