I am a committed and diligent new graduate RN in critical care, specifically Surgical, Trauma, & Neurological ICU (SICU). My employment in the SICU as a Patient Care Technician has allowed me to gain additional knowledge and utilize skills learned in nursing clinical practice. Being employed throughout a duration of nursing school has emphasized the importance of time management and has allowed me advance my critical thinking skills and increase my exposure to direct patient care. I am currently participating in a new graduate residency program to ensure I exceed competency and begin my nursing career along side my preceptor and education department. I am looking forward to performing evidence based practice in a critical setting while being present with patients in a critical and vulnerable time where I can ensure their care is including compassion and dignity. With these experiences, it will enable me to provide safe and individualized culturally competent care to every patient.
