About Annie Marks

With over 30 years of consulting and advising leaders and their organizations, I have developed a specialty in working with the human processes that help them thrive: leadership, communication, collaboration, decision making, growth, change and learning. Using my many years of experience of organizational systems, large-scale change, group dynamics and facilitation, I help clients make sustainable change. I love working with individuals and teams to uncover important and conflicting assumptions that can block learning and change, which I see as fundamental processes in healthy organizations. I am particularly interested in helping groups and executives function effectively when faced with important, multi-layered decisions, complex authority structures, competing interests and interpersonal / group dynamics. I make good use of cross pollination between sectors and companies, having worked in a wide range of industries, including professional and financial services, media & journalism, health care, luxury fashion, construction, non-profit, education and high tech. I have supported organizations during high-speed growth, organizational restructuring, strategic change and technology implementations. I have worked with large multi-national organizations as well as with small-to-midsized & founder-led businesses. I founded Marks Advisory in 2002, a consulting practice based in New York City. Previously, I spent 8 years in Arthur Andersen’s Business Consulting ‘Strategy, Organization and People’ practice in New York and London. I have received an MBA in Management/Marketing at New York University’s Stern School of Business and a MA in Organizational Psychology at Columbia University’s Teachers College. I have had longstanding relationships with several consulting organizations, among them Action Design, the Boswell Group, Mobius Executive Leadership and Crenshaw Associates.
