As a research intern I assisted in the collection and analysis of organ and serum samples of various fish. Liver tissues were tested for the presence of chemical toxins while serum samples were used to determine hormone levels (estradiol and cortisol primarily). Results were analyzed to determine detrimental effects of environmental toxins, such as DDT, and chemicals found in pharmaceutical drugs. A proteomic map was created using liver tissues from each individual. which created a picture of which proteins were being expressed, due to an endocrine response caused by the presence of an environmental toxin.

Assisted the payroll coordinator with the weekly employee payroll of a company with 200+ employees. General clerical duties. Answered phones and scheduled job appointments.
