I am excited to bring my passion for problem solving and drive to find answers to the field of software engineering. Helping my team work through errors, tackle a bug or using TDD to create a thorough test suite and guide code creation is what brings me the most fulfillment as a backend developer.Using Ruby on Rails I created projects that built and consume API's, worked with relational databases and restructured a monolith application into backend and frontend applications. While working solo has it's own perks, I prefer collaborating with a group, promoting a positive work culture and helping my teammates grow. Supporting my cohort mates with troubleshooting, learn a new skills and pushing them succeed is one of the most rewarding experiences I have had.Before transitioning into software development I spent over 2 decades in the veterinary industry as a veterinary technician. I used a variety of modalities and management practices to improve the quality of life of patients, owners, coworkers and enhance the human/animal bond.
