I manage the multimedia assets of the Science Communication Program at the University of California, Santa Cruz. In this role, I teach students how to use camera equipment, coordinate the purchasing of new equipment and conduct repairs on broken equipment.Additionally, I give lectures on short-form video script writing & the use of social media for science communication. I also serve as TA for the program’s video production class.

I was awarded the Curiosity Stream Emerging Filmmaker grant at the 2023 Jackson Wild Summit. Under the advisement of Curiosity's VP of Content, I used this grant to create "Little Penguin Love Island," a 30-minute documentary that explores how little blue penguins in urban Tasmania find love and raise families amongst the hustle and bustle of human civilization. This show was created in collaboration with Running Wild Media, who shot and helped produce the program. "Little Penguin Love Island" was completed within budget and ahead of schedule.

I researched, pitched, scripted, and edited footage for episodes of "Deep Look," a science video series produced by KQED and PBS Digital Studios.

I wrote video scripts, shot b-roll, edited footage, and coordinated on-location shoots for Inside Science's YouTube channel.

I covered local science and nature-related news for the Monterey Herald's print and digital platforms. During this internship, I often did on-location reporting and turned stories around in under 5 hours.
