Northeastern WI Area Health Education Center (NEWAHEC) works to connect students to careers, professionals to communities, and communities to better health. Currently, I am leading our team through strategic planning. To accomplish the work I will need to utilize my skills in fundraising and grant writing as well as building strong partnerships. I manage a great team of eight employees. I am responsible for budget development, management and business operations.

Manage a state grant to address the prescription drug crisis in the Northeastern and Southern regions of the state. For this position, I was responsible for providing technical assistance, training, and oversight to coalitions to ensure action plans were implemented and funds were used appropriately. I was responsible for contract management and mid-year and end-of-year grant reporting.

This was a new position. I created the first, comprehensive, county-wide prevention strategic plan after utilizing data, hosting focus group discussions, and conducting key informant interviews. Responsible for management and reporting of the prevention grants totaling more than a million dollars administered through 12 contracted organizations. Developed strategic partnerships with city, county and state elected officials to establish evidence-based prevention programming and distribution of grant funding to identified, contracted organizations.

Responsible for grant management, budget oversight, and program implementation. Assisted with writing, receiving, and managing an additional $800,000+ in prevention grants and county allocated funding.
