Supporting outstanding young men and women preparing for and currently in careers in the agriculture and food industries through leader development. Directed three program staff and oversee the initiation, development and execution of the annual four day Leaders Conference (over 800 students and 400 professionals), five Leader Institutes (average attendance: 75 students and 15 professionals). Took 10 students to the Netherlands for an international agriculture immersion experience. Cultivated new and existing relationships with speakers, university partners, young professionals, and industry leaders in food and agriculture. Oversaw the scholarship program, student leader development, new programmatic initiatives including a virtual career fair and fellowship program, and growth of Leader Institutes. Served as Board of Directors Program Committee Staff Liaison. Includes project and budget development of over $1.5 million, staff capacity building, and marketing and communications. Managed the AFA Alliance, the young professional membership association. Grew membership in the previous year by 26%. Increased face to face training from one regional event to three in the upcoming calendar year. Increased annual conference attendance by 15%. Creating initiatives for local networking and the opportunity to be involved in the collegiate programming.
