I co-ran three successful campaigns: food waste reduction in August 2019, single-use plastics awareness throughout October 2019 and a textile campaign following WRAP’s #DonationGeneration in February 2020. I created unique and engaging content for Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube channels. I engaged with the public through email, telephone, and social media interactions. I created case studies, articles and blog posts for Recycle Devon websites, our monthly Bulletin and Inside Devon Magazine. I also independently managed our education website (Zone.RecycleDevon.org) using CMS system WordPress, updating and creating new pages to keep the site relevant and up to date. I felt comfortable with chairing, recording minutes and contributing to team and stakeholder meetings, as well as giving comprehensive tours and presentations to members of the public visiting Exeter’s Waste Management facilities.

I was responsible for ensuring the safety and success of activities and trips of over 80 children. I achieved this by giving clear instructions and forward planning. The role also included producing digital media for NCS. My team won the media competition on YouTube and my photos featured on @ActivateNCS Instagram account.

Undertook training with the National Union of Students accredited by the Institute of Environmental Management.I conducted independent audits within various departments of Cardiff University, granting them the appropriate award after assessing the different departments environmental commitments.

Work experience working within a waste management operation; conducting gas and groundwater monitoring of current and retired landfill sites and using maps for data presentation.

An internship undertaking independent lab work for research into past climatic fluctuations to model future scenarios.I used technical equipment and inputted data for use in climate change research. I learnt new skills including, microscope analysis and preparing samples for the mass spectrometer in this fast-paced research project.
