I trained at the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago, the NE Medical Center, and at the NIH (under Jay Berzofsky at the NCI and Russell Howard at NIAID). Working with Bill Martin at EpiVax, I have been building new computational tools and moving the science of immunoinformatics forward. I am dedicated to making vaccines for emerging infectious disease more efficiently, more efficacious, and more easily available to global populations. I'm also engaged in making new medicines safer for patients, using our immunogenicity risk assessment tools.I have more than 230 publications in the area of vaccines, human immune responses to vaccines, and protein design that I am happy to share, please contact me. I have also taught immunoinformatics and vaccine design ... first at Brown University, then at University of Rhode Island, and now at the University of Georgia. I love to teach! In January 2017, EpiVax began the process of spinning out a new Personalized Cancer Vaccine company, now headed by Gad Berdugo, CEO. This new company is in the Seed Stage of Investment. The company's technology is called Ancer. It is a fully integrated, end-to-end Personal Mutanome to Vaccine computational pipeline for cancer patients. Working with experts at my Alma Mater, Pritzker School of Medicine (Gary Steinberg) and with Tufts New England Medical Center experts Leni Ramos and Judy Lieberman, we are working in unison towards this noble objective: Every cancer patient deserves their own personalized cancer vaccine. I'm thrilled to be participating in this new genome-to-vaccine program, using our extensively validated technology and novel insights into the nature of human immune response. Mike Princiotta is now the CSO.

Founder and Executive Editor for 10 years of this journal for correctional HIV providers that had a circulation of 50,000. I'm grateful to my co-editors and our loyal audience for a great 10 year run.

I taught students about vaccinology, and mentored many Brown undergraduates in the laboratory. Most have gone on to successful careers in medicine and immunology research; I'm always happy to hear from them!
