I am a dedicated and accomplished educator with 9 years of experience in the classroom who is embarking on an exciting journey into the field of project management. With a strong background in teaching and a passion for organization and strategic planning, I am eager to apply my skills and knowledge to drive successful project outcomes.Throughout my career as an educator, I have honed my abilities to effectively communicate complex ideas, manage diverse stakeholders, and adapt to changing circumstances... I have served as a project manager in my capacity as Team Lead. This role involved setting clear and measurable objectives, writing project plans, communicating with stakeholders, measuring progress, and executing projects. I have also successfully managed curriculum development initiatives, extracurricular programs, and educational events where I have consistently met deadlines and exceeded expectations. I have also been able to manage multiple projects from initiation to completion. For one such project, I was able to increase enrollment in sociology courses from one section to three sections as well as organize a partnership with the sociology department at George Mason University to include guest speakers and field trips. In addition, I organized multiple events including a school-wide field trip for 600 students to the African American History Museum, have taken students on multiple trips to Europe, and managed a community international night with 500+ guests. Throughout these projects, I have effectively communicated with stakeholders, adapted to changing circumstances, managed a budget, and monitored progress toward objectives. Outside of teaching, I am very passionate about human rights and love traveling all over the world to learn about different cultures. I have lived abroad and am fluent in the German language. I enjoy spending time outdoors, including hiking, camping, and walking. I also enjoy yoga, spending time with my dog Bentley, and cultivating my newfound hobby of house plants. I am confident that my experience in the classroom has prepared me for a career in Project Management. I am currently pursuing the Google Project Management Certificate and am fluent in Project Management methodologies, including Agile and waterfall.
