About Annie Hanlon

A lifelong cinephile working at the intersection of media and technology, I've produced award-winning immersive and traditional projects on a global scale. I thrive at the forefront of innovation – as the earliest of early adopters – witnessing firsthand how the harmonious integration of art and technology transforms storytelling. As Co-founder of PLAYBOOK PLBK, I take a forward-thinking and entrepreneurial approach to elevate and reshape storytelling across all sectors using AI, real-time, virtual production, immersive and emerging technologies for narrative, digital, and multi-plaform storytelling.At Netflix, I focused on emerging production methodologies where digital techniques merge with physical production practices. I collaborated with Production and VFX title management teams to leverage real-time, virtual production, and advanced technologies to effectively prepare and manage new opportunities to enhance filmmaking and help tell the best stories.I oversaw the planning, design, and construction of the LED Volume stage initiatives, partnering cross-functionally with C-suite executives, production strategy, resource planning, operations teams, artists, engineers, and stage management.Creative tools are only as good as those using them, so I am passionate about educating executives, creatives, and producers on the use cases and game-changing potential of solutions available today, and tomorrow.A frequent moderator and experienced speaker (Space Tourism Conference, USSRC’s AI Symposium, NAB, SXSW, LG NOVA Innovation Fest, Digital Hollywood, PI Apparel, Infinity Festival, AIS, XR on the Bay), I also co-hosted the award-winning comedy tech podcast, TechWits.📚As a personal project to segway back to working/meeting/events IRL, my husband and I modernized a book by my grandfather-in-law "How to Remember Names and Faces: The Original Mnemonic Memory Approach" for a contemporary audience (inspired the Dale Carnegie Institute method).
