I’m a graduate of Texas A&M, 1983 and South Texas College of Law, 1986. I’ve been a family practice attorney and an assistant attorney general in child support enforcement, Houston downtown division.My passion has been my volunteer activities. While living in Houston, I was a large church decision counselor for children, involved in children's drama teams, leader of large group activities, VBS group director, decision counselor, children’s choir co-director, encouragement team leader for adult worship choir, and wrote devotionals. I was also involved in the child abuse prevention effort in Houston. I have also coached youth teams in baseball, basketball, and soccer at the local YMCA. Additionally, my family and church group were involved in the relief efforts for both Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Ike. I have also served as a Volunteer Coordinator, class volunteer, and fundraiser in the CFISD system.These recent years have included varied types of volunteer activities, but the connecting thread for all has been caring for children and helping others. However, I'm very proud of my involvement during law school with the Harris County DA and FBI. My internships allowed me to be involved in witness interviews, trials, evidence compilation, filing, complaint searches, prisoner/prison complaints. Both positions gave me insight into my motivation to be a force for good by showing me a world I had not experienced.After returning to Stephenville, I’ve volunteered at Selden Baptist Church, leading children’s Bible study, directing music for VBS progams in summers, and helping in any youth activities..Although these later activities were unpaid positions, they showcase my passion for both my community and the life opportunities we make available to improve our world. I've shown leadership and control in difficult situations, managed all ages and skill levels to achieve goals, and worked alongside my teams with passion, energy and praise to maintain motivation.
