ICR-UK is a medical publishing company that specialises in reporting from medical conferences around the world. My role as publications manager involved the production of:* Evidentia - a bi-monthly paper journal that is sent to primary and secondary care practitioners.* 'Dot med' series of electronic journals for doctors that are available in a number of therapy areas and usually highlight a specific medical conference. I was appointed to set up the UK company and launch and manage the range of print and electronic journals in the UK. This involved all aspects of production, advertising sales, commissioning of articles, editing, design, recruitment and circulation management.

Lane Earl & Cox (now Open LEC) is a full service advertising agency specialising in the healthcare market. As production manager, I worked closely with the internal marketing and creative departments to source and establish optimum methods of managing a full range of print, press advertising and premium items and steered the projects from brief to delivery. During my time at LEC I introduced the agency's job bag system, developed the production database and studio work flow systems.

Grey Healthcare is a full service advertising and public relations company specialising in the healthcare market. During my time with the company, I developed a full range of integrated agency systems including job bag system, studio work-flow and client contact information to achieve accuracy and efficiency which in turn enabled the agency to succeed in meeting deadlines within budget constraints. I also managed the production department and studio facility.

General Advertising and sister company GA International were both full service advertising agencies and my role was to provide full technical and administrative support in all aspects of print management and press production for creative and account handling teams.

Animal Health Services were publishers of Veterinary Times - a journal that was sent out to veterinary surgeons in the UK. My role involved all aspects of production, advertising sales, commissioning of articles, sub-editing and circulation management. I also ran the Veterinary Advertising and Mailing Awards and produced the first overnight newspaper to be distributed during a veterinary congress.Henderson Group One was a public relations company specialising in the pharmaceutical market. I started a print management division for this company which offered print services for healthcare clients.

Newman Turner Publications were part of the Booker Health Food group and were publishers of Here's Health, Health Food Trader and Slimming Naturally, as well as a number of books in the natural health market. During my time with this company, I held the positions of Classified Advertisement Representative and Assistant Advertisement Manager for both Here's Health and Health Food Trader. And met some wonderful people many of whom are still friends!
