Hi there,I am a biomedical laboratory scientist who graduated in December 2021. Since I passed the first courses that allowed me to work in my future field, I very excitedly started! I started my journey in HUS at Meilahti hospital area. That included various places and a lot of different people. I have always been a "customer service person", and I truly enjoy the encounters with different people and their stories. I was a team leader of a semi-automatic PCR team in the department of Virology and Immunology, where I managed the daily operations, coordinated the workflow, and ensured the quality and accuracy of the results. I am passionate about developing the systems and processes that improve patient care and public health. Before joining HUS, I completed my thesis in the phage therapy research group at the University of Helsinki, where I expanded the group's phage collection and studied the potential of phages to combat antibiotic-resistant bacteria. I learned valuable skills in problem-solving, innovation, and collaboration, and gained a deeper understanding of the research field. I enjoy working in a dynamic and challenging environment, where I can apply my attention to detail, curiosity, and customer service skills. I am always eager to learn new things and advance my knowledge and expertise in the laboratory world.Recently I joined in a great team in Mehiläinen, aiming to further expand my knowledge and skills in different laboratory fields.Before my career in the laboratory world, I worked for years in restaurants and coffee shops in Finland and United Kingdom. There I discovered my passion for work, where you constantly meet people and get to learn something about them. I learned to actually like working under pressure and in busy enviroments and those have been extremely useful skills in every job after.
