I love to help people. I have experience working with kids and helping them reach their full potentials. It fulfills me to help kids. Why? Because giving others the help I wish I had received heals my inner child in a way. As well as that, there is so much to learn from kids, so I love to get the opportunity to learn from them. I once tutored a high school freshmen in Algebra, and I remember feeling so happy when he told me for once he didn’t blank out in a test and actually felt confident and knew what to do. Another thing I am proud of is that I can make even the most awkward and shy person feel comfortable around me. As an introvert, I know how hard it can be to socialize, which is why I am empathetic towards those who struggle with socializing and am able to connect with them. I grew up in a multi-cultured environment and that has also helped me to be more empathetic and understanding towards others. Recently, I’ve learned how important it is to verbalize my love and appreciation for people, and so I’ve made it a point to regularly tell my friends and family how much I love them and how grateful I am for them. I’ve learned to not take others’ presence in my life for granted. I am hopeful for the experiences that I will gain that will help me to expand my horizons and allow me to work in more diverse settings.
