I am a civil engineer working to design ecological and sustainable solutions. My interests include, but are not limited to, hydromodification, flood control, river design, stream and wetland restoration, hydraulics and hydrology modeling, and hydrological data collection.My long-term goal is to teach at a research university and design sustainable urban water systems. Specifically my interest is to teach future generations about responsible and necessary infrastructure, and to conduct research that involves designing, building and analyzing the social and environmental impact of projects. My education, work, and extracurricular activities have shaped my interest in civil engineering and sustainable infrastructure. In pursuing a university faculty position, I hope to design sustainable water systems, incorporate public education into infrastructure, and shift social norms on water usage and conservation. Through teaching, designing, and researching water infrastructure, I will engage, educate, and motivate people to pursue best management practices and ultimately make communities more resilient to the natural resource challenges they increasingly face.
