About Annissa L.
I am a first generation college student graduating in May 2023. After I graduated high school, I jumped right in the College of Engineering at the University of Arizona and was unprepared for the challenges life threw at me. I failed half of the classes in my first semester when I decided that college wasn't for me. I took some time to discover what I wanted to do with my life and where I wanted to go with my career and personal goals.I learned that I was still passionate about engineering and I wanted to graduate college. I enrolled at the local community college, since the cost was more reasonable, and slowly got back into the life of higher education. I researched what it would take for me to get my degree and found myself diving head first to reach this goal I thought was lost. I work a minimum of two jobs while attending school full time and most people are unable to imagine that, but I have learned more from this experience about dedication and hard work and I am grateful. My coursework includes water, environmental, organic, and physical chemistry, physics, thermodynamics, microbiology, hydrology, soil science, air pollution, and fluid mechanics. With knowledge in these areas I hope to find a job in air/water/environmental quality where I can apply my studies to ensuring environmental compliance standards are being met.My professional experience has allowed me to obtain skills in technical writing, technical communication, research, teamwork, programming in MatLab, additive manufacturing, project management and implementation, and amazing time management skills. With the skills I have advanced, I hope to obtain a job that allows me to analyze and present data, research and develop new technologies, and connects me with people around the world who work towards similar professional goals.
Listed skills include Leadership, Physics, Arduino, Wood Shop, and 37 others.
