CurrentThe Executive Director leads the South Carolina AHEC System and provides oversight and guidance for activities and services originating from the SC AHEC Program Office in Charleston and the four regional AHEC centers in Walterboro, Lancaster, Florence and Greenville. The Executive Director represents South Carolina AHEC at the local, state, regional and national levels, serving as an advocate and champion for health professions training, education, recruitment and retention for South Carolina.South Carolina AHEC is a state agency that has provided education, recruitment and retention programs to improve the training, diversity and distribution of South Carolina’s healthcare workforce for more than 45 years. South Carolina AHEC connects students and professionals with the tools, training and resources necessary to provide quality healthcare, with a focus on primary care for rural and underserved communities.
