I developed strong patient voices to tell stories about policy issues for IAF including case studies and the IAF video series. In this role, I conducted in-depth analyses of state and federal policies, analyzed gaps that could be leveraged, and built a core team of patients dedicated to engaging with IAF on key policy issues, empowering individuals and their families to share their experiences and navigate the advocacy journey.♦ Authored over 12 comment letters on commercial insurance or federal (FDA/CMS) policies that would impact patient access to medication with a focus on health equity.♦ Created a network of engaged advocates by hosting the first “IAF Patient Advocacy Weekend” for patients to record their stories to highlight the real-life impact of policy decisions.

Originally hired as program coordinator for SWIC (the Southern Wisconsin Immunization Consortium), driven by the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative (RWHC), I elevated the organization to a dynamic statewide policy and advocacy initiative encompassing 50 organizations, with the goal of eliminating immunization disparities and boost vaccination rates. In this role, I provided strategic guidance to 246+ healthcare executives spanning diverse sectors on immunization policy nuances and advocated the importance of cohesive industry-wide advocacy efforts.Guiding the Wisconsin Immunization Neighborhood (WIN), launched in early 2020 to fully address and support all of Wisconsin's communities in the immunization space, my role extended to national influence, when I testified before Congress on the COVID-19 rollout, delivering significant policy recommendations for vaccine distribution.♦ Engineered a powerful statewide coalition, "Immunize Wisconsin," which significantly improved vaccination rates. ♦ Extensive advocacy work, spanning state and national levels, included strategic campaign design and over 100 policy comments directed toward federal agencies such as the FDA, ACIP (Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices), and CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services).♦ Pioneered the promotion of health equity for diverse communities through leadership and presentations at national meetings.

I conducted rigorous quality audits and guided improvement initiatives for a delegated entity serving major insurance companies, including Aetna, UnitedHealthCare, and Scan. Joining a newly established insurer, elevated compliance as provisional contracts were secured, leading to full delegation status.Additionally, my responsibilities encompassed managing acute and sub-acute discharges, addressing notices of non-coverage, and ensuring seamless coordination among various stakeholders to adhere to stringent Medicare regulations. Handling patient communications, particularly in cases of care denial, presented its challenges. However, by offering patients alternative treatment options, we were able to achieve high levels of satisfaction.

Two year contract to support the Influenza Planning and Preparedness Section at the California Department of Public Health.Directly responsible for maintaining and monitoring $1.5 million in contracted funds. Implemented a weekly audit system of six funding sources, saving the section more than $60,000 by adjusting charges mistakenly made against the section’s spending accounts.
