My belief in the transformational power of a college education has fueled my passion for helping students to access, succeed at, and thrive in college. Graduating college-educated citizens prepared to meet the challenges of the present and future is one of our society’s most urgent needs. As the students of today become the leaders of tomorrow, it’s more important than ever to help them develop transferrable skills and learn to think broadly and deeply from multiple perspectives. I’ve been fortunate to facilitate this throughout my twenty-plus years in higher education. Serving in roles in Admissions and Enrollment Management, First Year Experience, and Student Success has given me the opportunity to help students pursue their dreams and meet their goals. It’s also enabled me to continue to learn, develop, and grow, personally and professionally. In building relationships at both the institutional and individual levels, I have come to appreciate how connected we are as higher education professionals in our pursuit of these ultimate goals. I believe that as a community of educators, the future depends on our success. It is no small matter, but as this common purpose unites us, across institutions, I know that we make an important difference in the lives of many!
