I work in the youth services department making kids, parents, and everyone who loves children's books happy!Some of my other duties and accomplishments include:I plan and perform storytimes for preschoolers, and families. I have increased the circulation of the picture book collection through weeding and displays. I select picture books, music, audiobooks, kits, and the 700s for my building. I manage a busy reference desk.I connect children to books that excite them. I collaborate with coworkers on planning and presenting of special children's programs. I serve on the downloadable materials committee, and train my coworkers in the use of edevices.

At the Ypsilanti District Library I worked in the youth services department: -Created a friendly, helpful, and welcoming library environment. - Answered reference questions in person, online, and via phone,- Connected a diverse population of children, teens, and parents to books -Assisted patrons with their computer use and technical difficulties.

In the Youth Services Department I observed excellence and gained experience in reference, collection development, programming, and early literacy initiatives.
