I have successfully retired from the law firm, Fennemore Craig, after 44 years of practicing law in Reno, Nevada. I am grateful that every law firm I worked for was a credit to the profession and that I was able to close out my career as a director at Fennemore, a firm dedicated to practicing law in a way that best serves its clients and its members and the legal profession. I am particularly proud to have served as Chief Diversity Officer for Fennemore and note that Fennemore has been dedicated to Diversity and Inclusion not only among its attorneys but among its staff. Fennemore has a full complement of attorneys that continue to serve well the clients I was privileged to represent in the arena of general business, employment, and estate and trust litigation. I earned my B.A. in English with a minor in Spanish from the University of Nevada, Reno and a law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento. I served on the state bar's Board of Bar Examiners for 20 years, writing on all subjects at least once. I was elected to the Board of Governors for the State Bar of Nevada in 2012 and served as its President in 2021-2022.I served in all offices of the Washoe County Bar Association and continue as Emeritus Board member for the Northern Nevada Women Lawyers Association. I currently serve as the chair of the University of Nevada, Reno Foundation.I was born in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina and was raised in Houston, Texas until high school before relocating to Las Vegas. I am married to the Honorable Bruce T. Beesley, a fellow McGeorge and University of Nevada, Reno graduate.
