Reporting to the Environment Manager, my role is based in the RTCA Health Safety Environment and Communities (HSEC) Corporate team. Collaboration across sites is a key component of my role, and has been demonstrated with the successful implementation of a number key projects. I have been actively involved in the separation of the RTCA operations due to divestment.Achievements:• Driving and facilitating update of the Kestrel Mine closure plans, involved engagement of multidisciplinary team across operational and corporate functions to review closure risks and actively manage cost requirements• Achieved the first ever progressive rehabilitation sign-off under the new process defined by the Queensland Environmental Protection Act for Kestrel Coal Mine, established RTCA as an industry leader in this area• Achieved savings of over $8 million projected for next three years, by reducing carbon price obligations. Project managed a process to engage suitable auditors, liaised with site based teams to generate critical projection data for clean energy regulator submission. This data was used for a successful submission (under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act) to increase the Safeguard baseline for Kestrel Mine. • Development of a web based ground disturbance permit process for use within the RTCA operations. The project involved extensive discussions with an offshore based IT company and resulted in greater transparency, real time information sharing, faster turnaround and reduced risk of error.• Led and Implemented a Queensland non-mineral waste management contract for all RTCA operations. Also project managed a change in laboratory for HSE analysis. This was achieved through driving an extensive tender and evaluation process. Significant cost savings have been achieved with a change in contractors.

I was responsible for the coordination of closure planning across all of the RTCA managed operations. I was required to work with all levels of the organisation, including the Closure Steering Committee whose membership includes Site General Managers and RTCA Executive Committee members. In addition I assisted site environmental staff with regional projects and was integral in organising environmental workshops to enhance collaboration across all sites. Corporate environmental reporting was also an integral part of my role.
