I am a graduate of the MA Planning program at the University of Waterloo, and am on my way to becoming a registered planner. My educational background in planning, architecture and urbanism, coupled with my professional experience as an assistant planner at the City of Guelph and a site planner for one of BUILD UK's top 100 architectural firms in the world, has provided the opportunity to collaborate with professionals from various fields (planners, engineers, architects, etc.). I have worked on technical reports, prepared over 200 project scope sheets for a municipal budget, contributed to an award winning master plan for a university campus and worked on the site plan for three high-rise, high-density residential developments around a new underground subway line. I am actively looking for roles to start my journey towards becoming an RPP. I have knowledge of the Planning Act, Official Plans, zoning by-laws, site plan control, etc. and am interested in development, policy and land-use planning. As a postgraduate planning student, my research revolved around themes like transit-induced gentrification, preserving and creating new affordable housing and leveraging underutilized public land to create large-scale, truly affordable residential developments.
