I am a dedicated researcher with extensive experience in synthetic/medicinal chemistry and drug delivery platforms.Currently, I am working at UNC-Chapel Hill, developing an advanced drug delivery platform for long-acting antiretroviral medications. My role involves contributing to various collaborative projects that explore both in vitro and in vivo applications of this innovative platform.During my Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry at the University of Kansas, I focused on the synthetic applications of unconventional covalent tethers in organic synthesis. Project 1: Diastereoselective synthesis of cyclic-phosphoramidates employing tethered aza-wacker cyclization and a general protocol for removing phosphoramidate tethers from cyclic phosphoramidates. Project 2: Regio and stereoselective intramolecular ring opening of epoxides by di-tert butyl silanol tethered alcohol. And extended this methodology for the total synthesis of solerone and muricatacin. Project 3: Regioselective and stereospecific ring-opening of aziridines by pendant sulfamates to prepare vicinal diamines. Designed and synthesized substrates for the new reaction from commercially available starting materials individually and in collaboration. Analyzed and characterized compounds using spectroscopic techniques like NMR, LCMS & IR, and software like ChemDraw & Mestre nova and monitored reaction progress via TLC, GC, and NMR. -
