Expert-IT Infrastructure Planning is responsible for IT Capacity planning, design, implementation and optimization of (but not limited to) the Ooredoo Oman IT Unix, Linux, AIX Systems and the IT Enterprise Storage Area Network systems from EMC, Huawei, HPE etc.This role will primary focus in contributing to IT Enterprise Storage Area Network, Linux, Unix & AIX systems infrastructure evolution towards convergence, best practices advancement, next generation IT Infrastructure trends and alignment of IT investments plus infrastructure design with the business goals of the enterprise. In addition, participates in implementation & configuration of new infrastructures and projects.In addition, this function will work on improving systems availability and disasters endurance, from a design perspective planning, designing and deploying the Ooredoo Oman IT enterprise Storage Area Network, Linux, Unix & AIX systems, backup and virtualization.Key Accountabilities o Plan, Design, Develop and optimize infrastructure solutions to enhance IT Systems and Storage infrastructure components: storage, servers, backup, network, OS/DB/Virtualization licensing, etc.o Aligning any new project or implementation with The Company and OOREDOO group IT strategy & Roadmap.o Assess new IT solutions market trends and map them to the Company IT environment to leverage their benefits by developing solutions destined to enhance the Company current IT infrastructure. That covers current IT setup analysis, business cases writing, comparative ROI documents, etc.o Ensure any project completion and closure by obtaining sign off from all The Company main stakeholders (i.e. Operations & Business teams)o Manage and supervise new projects in line with The Company agreed roadmap covering IT infrastructure (servers, storage, operating system, databases, virtualization, cloud computing, high availability, backup, archiving and IT disaster recovery, etc.)and Handover to IT-Operatinos team.
