Currently working as Chairman of Anesthesiology at King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz University Hospital in Riyadh. My aim is to support build the departments activities across clinical, education and research domains positioning the department to become one of the leading centres of academic anesthesia in the kingdom. In my background have been closely involved in postgraduate medical education since 1999, holding a variety of local, regional and national roles including; College Tutor, Programme Director, Regional Adviser to Mid-Trent, Lead Regional Advisor UK and Head of School for Anaesthesia, Intensive Care and Pain in the East-Midlands. I was an RCA Examiner for 12 years, and Lead College Assessor for Consultant Advisory Appointment Committees. I have a long interest in airway management and have been an active Difficult Airway Society member, acting on the committee and chairing DAS 2011 in Nottingham.I represent clinicians on the Centre for Health Technologies http://www.healthcaretechnologies.ac.uk/cht/index.aspx and am Clinical Advisor to CHEATA (www.cheata.co.uk).
