The central aim of the NEURO-SHAPE project during my post-doc is to investigate the effects of exercise on neurogenesis, angiogenesis and cognition using state-of-the-art MRI readouts. In a randomized controlled trial we assigned healthy volunteers to high or low intensity exercise regimes and used a multimodel imaging (MRS, DSC, ASL) approach to assess.

During my PhD at Imperial College London and the University of Amsterdam, I used a translational approach to study the effect of psychotropic drugs on the developing brain. I validated pharmacological MRI in lesion models of dopamine and serotonin remodeling. Subsequently, I applied this knowledge in the largest prospective trial studying developmental.
