Als orthopedagoog bij Kerobei voer ik verschillende taken uit. Zo ben ik lid van de commissie bovenschoolse ondersteuning, waar wij o.a. onderzoeken welke onderwijssetting het meest passend is voor een leerling. Daarnaast werk ik als orthopedagoog op verschillende basisscholen van Kerobei. In deze rol werk ik samen met het onderwijspersoneel op de scholen om zo op een preventieve wijze bij te dragen aan het passend onderwijs op de basisschool. Verder draag ik bij aan het beleid van de stichting door deel te nemen aan de beleidscommissie Passend Onderwijs.

As a teacher at Summa College I carry out the following tasks: - Developing and teaching courses to students of intermediate vocational school (Teaching Assistent) (level 4). These courses are among others pedagogy, ICT, mentorship, suitable education, and career orientation guidance.- Conducting individual conversations to check students well-being and to give them individual career orientation guidance (mentorship).- Attending professional group consultations and meetings.- Conducting conversations with students and their supervisors at their internship to control their progress and I coach these students if they need support.- Constructing exams. Besides my teaching tasks I also work as a welfare officer. As a welfare officer I conduct conversations when they need more guidance than the regular support that is given. I work together with other welfare officers, the welfare coordinator, social workers and attendance officer and we make sure that students are referred externally when necessary.

Blariacum College

As a Supporter of Suitable Education I help students who need a bit more guidance to succeed at a regular high school. Problems that occur are for example performance anxiety, concentration problems and difficulties with parental divorce. In conversations, I help and train these students to face these difficulties. I work closely with parents, mentors and teachers.

Young Innovators is an extra curriculum honoursprogramme of Utrecht Univeristy. The programme focuses on creating innovative and sustainable solutions for social problems. An interdisciplinary approach and collaboration between students from different academic backgrounds is central in the programme. As a Young Innovator you work on the same challenge during the programme. This challenge is linked with stakeholders in the work field. The challenge I am working on is Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the municipality of Utrecht.

Mauritius

The International Foundation Programme is a programme of Middlesex University Mauritius for students to make the transition from secondary education to an undergraduate programme of Middlesex University.For my internship, I prepare and teach lectures, seminars, and labs which focus on how to be an independent learner. Besides my internship, I also do my research in Mauritius about the transition from secondary school to tertiary education.

Blerick

My task were to support the school's social worker and to assist the supportteam with several tasks. These task were among others inter mediating for the Jeugdsport- en Jeugdcultuurfonds (Youth sport and culture fund) and to guide students with SPOP (Special fitting education project, in Dutch: speciaal passend onderwijs project). During SPOP, students are helped with planning and organizing of their schoolwork and their well-being is monitored.

Venlo

The Youth Service Point (JSP) offers help for students with questions on several fields. JSP is also a place where several professionals with different expertise work together and help eachother. Youth from 12 years old can come to JSP with their question. Professionals will try to answer these questions or send them to the right person to ask their question. Low-threshold help is always a key element.
