Everyone deserves to have the knowledge to live a happy and healthy life. This is something I believe in and that I want to contribute to with the work that I am doing. First by filling up gaps in the scientific knowledge, currently with my PhD research Eating for Science. Besides that, I like to present at conferences as well as on non-scientific stages. As one of the Groninger winners of Famelab I was invited to give a TedxTalk. I get energy from having people around me and discussing ideas with them. This also helps me translate scientific findings to comprehensible stories for everyone. I like explaining things and do this for instance at different educational levels, from high-school to university. Besides that, I like to take the lead, not only on a professional level, but also in my private life, on the athletics track. Luckily, I can compensate the lack of talent for speed with motivation.My goal is to make as many people as healthy as possible or help them stay healthy. To do this, I use my professional experience as a scientist and speaker and my private experience as an athlete. In future I hope to not only do this on a regional or national level, but also being able to contribute on an international level.
