Since October 2019 until the end of 2022 I worked as an illustrator and graphic designer (self-employed), under the name Dutch Design Dame. I had a diverse group of clients and projects since then, located all over the world. During this time my main focus changed to (children's) books. For this purpose I could realize the illustrations, as well the DTP.

A sustainability advisor in the public space, also involved in real estate projects. A diverse job where I was with my sustainability advise a link between clients and technical planners. I initiated sustainability measures, did CO2-footprint calculations, held participation sessions related to sustainability, wrote policy documents, and so on. Clients were municipalities, contractors, waterboards, and province ZH.

Sassenheim

Research & Product Design on the topic Circular Economy. The project did consist out of a research phase (internal, external research & gaining a product understanding, including sustainability analysis like LCA), ideation phase and a design & implementation phase (technical validation by simulations & prototyping incl 3D printing). As part of the deliverable sustainability guidelines regarding design decisions were developed.

Delft Area, Netherlands

Roadmap is a company that creates travel apps for the business traveler. A part of this experience is sending emails to the traveler (like which flight they booked). Since the layout of those emails needed to be compatible with the style of the traveler's company, one of the things I did at this company, was creating an application that made it possible to automatically generate personalized emails, including the images. This was done in PHP and XHTML.

The continuation of prototype development after receiving a grant from Design United (3TU). In collaboration with Reinier the Graaf Hospital and the concerned research team at the faculty. My field of interest in this project was improving the software of the current prototype.

This was a 19 hours/week job where I fulfilled the role as a student assistant in the course Software at the Industrial Design department. I answered questions of students and helped them with their programming problems. After the general programming lessons were finished, I was coach of multiple groups. I wrote their project assignments by myself (this was optional, but I did like to make the project assignments more exciting for them). It was taken into account that the projects were doable in the level and time they had. They had to write a program in Visual Basic, with some physical input. I also reviewed their work. It was a joyful experience.
