Intern for the Community Relations, Outreach, and Events team.

As California State Coordinator, I oversaw all California projects- creating strategies, delegating assignments, and communicating with key elected officials throughout California. I created new outreach strategies to get elected officials to sign on to our letter demanding increased climate action from Governor Newsom and conducted outreach to bring on new signatories. In my time as coordinator, the letter reached 315 signatories from 49 out of 52 counties. I worked with peer environmental organizations like the Sierra Club and Center for Biological Diversity on projects like teaching cities and counties how to shut down idle oil and gas wells in their jurisdiction and providing them the resources to take action.I also worked with elected officials and the governor's office to arrange meetings with the governor in order to create a better climate strategy that involves phasing out fossil fuels.Additionally, I organized and worked with EOPCA's Leadership Council, comprised of 20+ elected officials, to strategize and create a state-wide action plan.Part of my work was policy projects like helping counties enact 2,500 foot setbacks between oil wells and homes and creating resolutions for city councils to pass in support of greater environmental action.

I conducted a complete redesign of the Express Refrigeration website: www.expref.com I managed social media for the business (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter), wrote HVAC blog posts for the Express website, and designed any marketing materials. I created new marketing strategies like a direct mail campaign that I conducted and oversaw using postcards I designed.I submitted government bids and conducted outreach to school districts, cities and counties, and local businesses.I helped dispatch and schedule jobs, order and check in parts, and invoice completed jobs. I ran reports and meticulously looked through each job to ensure none slipped through the cracks. I created job postings for technicians and office staff and was involved in the hiring process.

As an intern at Senator Harris' Sacramento Office, I took on legislative research- writing research reports, bill analyses, and briefing memos on issues like school safety and the treatment of LGBTQ+ students. I also communicated with constituents and fielded issue and casework calls for the Senator.

As an intern on the Graphics Operations team, I wrote unit tests in C++, learning the language on the job, in order to catch errors in a C++ program. I also worked on market research for the marketing team to evaluate competitor performance. I built portions of my team's website in Sharepoint Online and worked in Excel, analyzing data and making pivot tables and charts for team leads.

I wrote congressional memos for Congressman Ami Bera, helped supervise town hall meetings for the community to speak to the congressman, and interacted with constituents on a daily basis.

As an intern on the Graphics Operations team, I worked on converting a Perl script to Python in order to maximize code efficiency and wrote comprehensive documentation. I designed team websites in Sharepoint 2010. I also orchestrated and managed Virtual Reality demos for fellow interns.

Day of the Girl is a grassroots youth-led organization for gender justice and youth activism. I worked on creating "toolkits" containing instructions and resources for young activists to make change in their community. One toolkit included templates and instructions for youth to organize a letter-writing campaign. I also edited and co-ran the collaborative blog on the Day of the Girl website.
