My responsibilities include…

Edited sector and company reports.Helped roll out a training programme for editors. Got analysts to pitch in with their time to help editors understand financial reports.

Between 2002 and 2005, I was a senior reporter, based in Mumbai, covering textiles (including polyesters, viscose, yarns, textile machinery, taxation, etc), retail/marketing, real estate, corporate news and perfumes/flavours. Wrote features for the Catalyst (now Brandline).

Between 2000 and 2002, I was a senior editor, based in Chennai. I edited the Editorial and Opinion pages of the Hindu Business Line, Investment World (Industrial Analysis, Opinion, Personal Finance and Corporate) pages. I was personally responsible for selection of news for the Opinion page and layout and production of the Opinion and Industry Analysis pages.I illustrated articles for the Industry Analysis and Opinion pages (published on Sundays), edited contributions and made/laid out pages for the Transport, Accounts and Taxation pages. Contributed a couple of articles to the Impressions column (Editorial) and Variety page.

Edited reports, laid out/planned pages, liaised with reporters and chief of bureau on reports to be published in the business pages (Business Times) of The Times of India newspaper. Occasionally contributed to 'Citylights', published on Mondays (and still is).

Edited features and news reports for the business magazine.
